Our nursing team provides compassionate, high quality safe and efficient medication dispensing to patients that are seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.
Your Job as a Pharmacy Technician:
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for dispensing medication, under the guidance of a pharmacist as well as assisting with the efficient and effective daily operations of the pharmacy/medication dispensing department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supports pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications.
- Helps health care providers and patients by greeting them, answering questions and requests, and referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
- Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing, and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated medications.
- Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, and Clinic “lockbox” policy.
- Organizes medications to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions, preparing labels, calculating quantities, and assembling medication.
- Maintains records by recording and filing physicians’ orders, prescriptions and checking for patient names/ dates on returned bottles from previous dosing.
- Ensures medication availability and security by delivering medications to patients and departments.
- Complies with internal patient verification process and compliance against dose levels in EMR.
- Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
- Demonstrates organizational skills, the ability to work with the public, and a general working knowledge pertaining to the efficient operation of an office in a medical clinic setting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
