North Port Behavioral Health, located in North Port, Florida, is a premier provider of mental health and co-occurring addiction treatment services. As the need for behavioral healthcare services continues to grow, our team is dedicated to providing high-quality care that meets patients where they are on their path to healing. 

 

Our Staff Accountant is responsible for the coordination and support of the accounting processes. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review AP invoices for accuracy and approval, entering them into accounting system, and processing them in a timely manner
  • Enters and processes data into payroll system by established deadlines.
  • Maintain records of invoices, purchase order, and approvals for AP.assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability or other financial activities within the facility.
  • Prepare and examine financial reports to ensure the records are accurate and timely.
  • Reconciles and researches financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Handles employee inquiries about payroll and resolves discrepancies.
  • Communicates with vendors regarding payment status, invoice requests, and inquires.
  • Prepare month end journal entries and GL account reconciliations within established time frame and assist with month end closing.
  • Provides supporting documentation  for audits.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
  • Two years’ accounting experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills needed.
