Overview

 

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

The Procurement team is looking for a dynamic Strategic Sourcing Manager (SSM) who will be responsible for managing the sourcing activities primarily for products, and contracted services that support our healthcare facilities.  This position will support multiple categories such as but not limited to: Food, Pharmacy, Med Supplies, Office Supplies, Lab, etc. This includes requirements gathering, sourcing, creating and issuing Request for Proposal (RFP), proposal evaluation, contract negotiations, contract drafting and vendor implementation. This position is responsible for understanding corporate business requirements, category, line-of-business (LOB) and market developments. The SSM will also translate business requirements into cost savings opportunities while securing leadership buy-in. The SSM will work with Acadia facilities and our Group Purchasing (GPO), to maximize the GPO portfolio in order to deliver additional value for Acadia and our sourcing initiatives.

 

  • Category Strategy & Execution – You’ll develop category strategies by interacting with key stakeholders and applying a lens on the category with a focus on the future state. You’ll execute the strategy by engaging with internal cross-functional partners and building relationships with external suppliers and industry experts while adhering to current processes and recommending improvements to standard processes.
  • Focus on Value Creation – In this role, you will achieve significant negotiated P&L savings while maintaining and improving supplier partner service levels. You will develop cost reduction strategies based on stakeholder budgets and forecasting for the category. You will also execute RFP’s with national and regional implementation plans.
  • Supplier Relationship Management – Maintain and improve supplier partner performance. Monitor implementation and KPI’s of new contract terms.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Play a key role in the success of the strategic sourcing management goals of the company and implement action items to ensure that those goals are achieved
  • Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies through the RFx process
  • Responsible for managing vendor negotiations and develop “win-win” strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
  • Implement supplier agreements by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions.
  • Develops and reviews specifications, statements of work, performance terms and accept/reject criteria.
  • Owns the Supplier Relationship Management process for the assigned categories.
  • The Strategic Sourcing Manager sources, evaluates, and purchases services, and supplies, based on price, service, quality, and warranty.
  • The Strategic Sourcing Manager prepares bid forms, handles the RFX process, analyzes bid results, and makes recommendations and awards contracts.
  • Managing complex system wide projects.
  • Performs overall project planning for key spend based on a predefined Strategic Plan.
  • Defines, estimates, schedules project work to achieve the scope of the project.
  • Manages, monitors, and forecasts project execution across all knowledge areas. 
  • Takes corrective actions, as required to deliver complete scope on time.
  • Ensures internal and external stakeholder management through effective communication. 
  • Analyzing vendor RFPs, contracts, identifying variances and cost difference/savings proposals
  • Maintaining positive vendor relationships while also holding vendors accountable to best pricing, contractual requirements, and expectations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience managing various RFx processes and negotiating product and service agreements
  • Strong preference for candidates with sourcing experience in large healthcare organizations
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and language related to supplier and/or vendor agreements
  • Familiarity with sourcing and procurement tools
  • Ability to manage national sourcing initiatives and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful delivery
  • Implement supplier agreements by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • REQUIRED - Bachelor’s degree
  • PREFERRED - Master’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain or Business
