MeadowWood Behavioral Health Hospital is the Premier Mental Health and Co-Occurring Addiction Treatment Center for Adolescents, Adults, and Seniors in New Castle & Wilmington, DE. This 130-bed acute care hospital offers a range of services, including Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Detox and Substance Abuse Treatment, Inpatient Treatment, and specialized Adult and Geriatric Programs to address community needs.

 

We are currently seeking to add a Full-Time, Inpatient Psychiatrist to support our Adult and Geriatric patients receiving specialized psychiatric care.

 

About the role:

The Inpatient Psychiatrist will be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.

Responsibilities

Summary:

  • Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.
  • Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.
  • Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.
  • Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
  • Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
  • Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
  • Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Board certification in psychiatry
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
