Licensed Substance Use Disorder Counselor - Fully Remote (Massachusetts & Rhode Island)
Requirements: Master's Degree or one of the following: CAC, CAS, CADC, CRC, LADC, LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LPC
Full Time Hours: Monday - Friday, 5:30 AM - 2 PM, either on-site or fully remote via telehealth
Remote options are available for qualified candidates with extensive clinical experience and must consistently meet productivity standards. All remote hires are required to complete the initial onsite training period at any CTC clinic location before the fully remote schedule goes into effect.

Acadia Healthcare's Comprehensive Treatment Centers (CTC) division operates 14 outpatient opioid treatment program (OTPs) across Massachusetts and Rhode Island as the leading provider of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in the nation. Our counseling team provides compassionate, high-quality counseling and therapy to patients that are seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder while abiding by our mission of providing full-circle care that includes a blend of therapies and the use of safe and effective medications.
Your Job as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor:
The Substance Use Disorder Counselor is instrumental in our patient’s treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. Substance Use Disorder Counselors provide high quality, compassionate care through various mediums which include both individual and group counseling sessions.

Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
Proficiency in delivering counseling services via telehealth platforms, including managing virtual sessions and engaging clients effectively in a remote setting.
Your Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities.
Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone, and the ability to support MAT patients in a remote care model.
Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth systems.
Knowledge of evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and relapse prevention techniques, and how to adapt these approaches in a virtual format.
Proven ability to maintain thorough and timely electronic clinical documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Familiarity with state regulatory standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission standards).
Experience collaborating virtually with multidisciplinary teams, including medical staff, case managers, and peer support specialists, to coordinate patient care across platforms.
