Overview

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

Responsible for daily accounts receivable collections and billing for selected Acadia facilities. To assist selected facilities with increasing collections, reducing accounts receivable days, and reducing bad debt.

Responsibilities

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Call and status outstanding claims with third party payers.
  2. Review claims issues, make corrections as needed, and rebill. Will have access to claims clearing house to review and correct claims and to resubmit electronically when available.
  3. Review explanation of benefits to ascertain that the claim processed and was paid correctly.
  4. Complete adjustment forms if any adjustments need to be made to an account and attach all supporting documentation. Scan and send daily to the Business Office Director at the facility for approvals and posting.
  5. Manage daily productivity via Med Host collector ques and productivity report. Needs to maintain an average of 40 accounts worked per day at a minimum.
  6. Prorate patient accounts and monitor that balance due is in the correct financial class.
  7. Work closely with the facilities business office staff to obtain EOB’s and any other documentation needed.
  8. Weekly reporting to direct supervisor of an overview of the week and participate in weekly calls and/or email reports with the supervisor and BOD at the facility.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; prefer some college or technical school coursework.
  • Minimum 5 years of job-related experience.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of office administration procedures with the ability to operate most standard office equipment.
  • Ability to work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data & information while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
  • Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
  • Capable of working within established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the organization.
  • English sufficient to provide and receive instructions/directions.
