Acadia Healthcare's Comprehensive Treatment Centers (CTC) division operates 170+ CARF-accredited outpatient opioid treatment programs (OTPs) nationwide, serving patients undergoing treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD). As the leading provider of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in the nation, we care for more than 74,000 patients daily. Our Team:

Acadia's CTC region 15 operates six outpatient opioid treatment programs (OTPs) in the state of North Carolina. Our operations team provides daily oversight and management of outpatient clinics for patients seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder. Our mission is to provide full-circle care that includes a blend of therapies and the use of safe and effective medication-assisted treatment (MAT) medications. Our team is the front line of our fight against the opiate epidemic.

Full-Time Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • On call, as needed, to provide regional support; ability and willingness to travel regularly across six North Carolina sites.

Your Role as Regional Director:

The Regional Director is ultimately responsible for the daily administration and supervision of the assigned regional opioid treatment program clinics. This includes fostering compliance with clinical and regulatory standards, successful business performance, and the direct supervision of the region's clinic directors and clinic operations staff.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Complies with Opioid Treatment Program Division operating policies and procedures.
  • Reviews clinic and Opioid Treatment Division Policies and Procedures Manual(s) on an annual basis, making recommendations for revision.
  • Responsible for the implementation and management of the Corporate HR system in the clinics supervised.
  • Provides supervision to clinic department heads and other personnel as needed.
  • Responsible for public relations and marketing efforts related to clinic operation.
  • Responsible for payer and referral source satisfaction with the clinic.
  • Responsible for physical plant improvements and appearance of the clinics supervised.
  • Collaborate with clinic directors in organization development and training of clinic staff.
  • Collaborates with governing bodies in the development of clinic-specific annual operating capital budgets and strategic business plans. Assures that the medical staff is involved and provides input into this process through coordination with the office of the Medical Director.
  • Achieves regional financial results to meet the operations budget.
  • Manages day-to-day operations and staff so that the clinics achieve their objectives in all the following key performance areas: effective patient care outcomes, appropriate fiscal management, maintenance of licensure, accreditation and other regulatory criteria, and implementation of focused business development processes.
  • Creates and maintains a network of local constituency groups to include government agencies, local businesses, affiliate health providers, and the surrounding community.
  • Assesses team performance, both individual members and the team as a whole, assesses competencies, and provides coaching/corrective action and performance improvement as appropriate.
  • Ensures participation of staff in facility/program-wide in-service and continuing education programs.
  • Oversees contract relationships to include regular reporting on contract performance as well as new revenue generation and growth.
  • Routinely attends and, as appropriate, chairs periodic meetings with the medical staff, executive management team, and other departments of the clinics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • BA in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Marketing, or a clinical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • MBA/MHA is highly preferred.

Required Experience:

  • Operational Leadership: Proven experience managing, overseeing, and developing operations within addiction treatment settings, with emphasis on opioid treatment programs (OTPs) and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
  • Multi-Site Leadership: Must include direct responsibility for multi-site or multi-facility operations, ensuring consistency, compliance, and operational excellence across locations.

  • Direct OTP/MAT Leadership (Ideal): Demonstrated success leading opioid treatment program (OTP) and/or medication-assisted treatment (MAT) operations, with direct oversight of clinical teams, compliance, and patient care delivery.
  • De Novo Site Development: Proven experience in the successful launch, development, and operational oversight of new (“de novo”) healthcare sites.

  • Management Experience: Three to five years of progressive operational management experience with direct supervision of staff, fiscal oversight, and growth responsibilities across multiple clinics, practices, or operational locations.
  • Financial Management: Demonstrated success in financial leadership, including full responsibility for budgets, P&L statements, forecasting, and all financial aspects of multi-site healthcare operations.
  • Compliance & Accreditation: Established track record leading successful licensure, accreditation, and regulatory compliance efforts in behavioral health facilities.
  • North Carolina OTP Regulations (Ideal): In-depth knowledge of North Carolina regulations governing opioid treatment programs (OTPs), including CARF accreditation standards, state licensure requirements, and related compliance frameworks.

  • Specialized OTP/MAT Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of narcotic agonist treatment programs/medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and best practices.

  • Regional Travel: Ability and willingness to travel regularly across six North Carolina sites to provide consistent leadership presence, support site operations, and foster engagement with local teams.
