About San Jose Behavioral Health

 

San Jose Behavioral Health is a 133-bed inpatient mental health facility in northern California where adult men and women, and adolescents can receive comprehensive inpatient treatment for a range of behavioral and mental health disorders. Conveniently located in the heart of San Jose and easily accessible to residents in Santa Clara County, San Mateo County, and Alameda County, our campus is situated amid gently rolling hills and features serene views of our beautiful natural surroundings.

 

 

How will we support you in this role?

 

Although our hospitals are free-standing and run independently, you have support from Corporate and are never alone. From day one, you will be paired with corporate recruiting to help with recruiting efforts to help bring in the best talent for your facility. You will also be paired with a Corporate Nurse leader to mentor you and support you in this role. For those that want to continue to grow, we also offer a CEO In-Training program if you envision yourself running a hospital one day.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the nursing department.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff across all units.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards (TJC, CMS, etc.) and survey readiness.
  • Manage nursing budget, staffing, recruitment, and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with physicians, administration, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvements in clinical care delivery.
  • Participate in executive decision-making and facility planning.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing or mental health nursing strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or commensurate experience required.
  • 10+ Years RN experience preferred. 6 years RN experience required.
  • Nursing leadership experience in a freestanding psychiatric hospital strongly preferred.
  • Prior CNO/DON experience strongly preferred.
  • 2 years behavioral health experience as and RN in an inpatient psychiatric setting required
  • 3 years of progressive nursing management or administrative nursing experience required. 

 

*Only candidates with Behavioral Health experience as an RN in an inpatient psychiatric setting will be considered for this role.*
