What Is The Refuge, A Healing Place?
The Refuge, A Healing Place is a nationally recognized residential behavioral health facility situated on approximately 94 acres in the heart of Florida’s Ocala National Forest. We specialize in trauma-informed, long-term treatment for adults (18+) struggling with PTSD, process addictions, substance use, eating disorders, and co-occurring mental health challenges. Our care model blends evidence-based therapies (like CBT, DBT, exposure therapy) with holistic and experiential approaches (such as art therapy, meditation, massage, nature-based work) to support healing at the mind, body, and spirit levels.
We offer a full continuum of care: medical detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), relapse prevention, and alumni support.
The campus is designed to foster both privacy and community: clients live in shared cabins, and therapeutic groups often meet in intimate, nonclinical settings throughout the forested grounds.
