Corporate Project Chief Nursing Officer (PRN)
Location: Remote | Travel: Up to 90%

 

 

About the Role


The Corporate Project CNO is a dynamic, hands-on leadership position designed for experienced nurse executives who thrive in fast-paced environments and want to make an immediate impact. In this role, you will:

 

  • Serve as interim CNO or DON at facilities experiencing leadership transitions.
  • Provide onsite support to stabilize operations and mentor incoming leaders.
  • Drive high-quality behavioral health nursing services and operational excellence across departments

 

This is a travel-intensive role (up to 90%), offering the opportunity to influence care delivery nationwide while collaborating with top leaders in behavioral health.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Set the vision for nursing practice and patient-centered care.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accrediting standards.
  • Lead staffing, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop nursing leadership teams.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning and operational oversight.


What We’re Looking For

 

  • MSN in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing (required).
  • Compact RN license in good standing.
  • 10+ years of nursing experience, including 5+ years at DON or CNO level in inpatient behavioral health.
  • Strong leadership, regulatory, and operational expertise.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification (training provided if needed).

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree (MSN) in psychiatric or mental health nursing is required.
  • 10+ years of nursing experience strongly preferred. 6 or more years of nursing experience required. 
  • Previous experience with the population of the facility required.
  • 5 or more years’ experience at the Director of Nursing level required.
  • Current state RN license is active and in good standing. Must be a compact license. 
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
