Seeking: Lab Tech - Part-Time

 

Part-Time Hours:

  • Monday - Friday 5:50 AM - 12 PM
  • Rotating Saturdays - if a Satuday is worked, one day can be taken off during the week

Your Job as a Laboratory Technician:

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results according to the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, and reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. The Laboratory Technician's primary responsibilities are completing and recording drug screen analyses and assisting with the flow of patients throughout the building - this includes administrative duties as assigned.

 

Your Responsibilities as a Laboratory Technician:

  • Receiving and setting up DSAs for testing
  • Assistance in documenting when laboratory supplies should be ordered;
  • Verifying expiration dates to ensure appropriate levels are ready for us. Checking collection dates on processed DSAs in holding refrigerators and disposing of them in a timely manner;
  • Performing cleaning of laboratory areas and equipment;
  • Assistance with intake patients; 
  • Reception duties - including but not limited to checking patients in, communicating with other departments, answering phones, and assisting with the general flow of the clinic; and,
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Education, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required,
  • Medical experience is required; experience drawing blood and/or recording drug screen analysis is a plus.
  • Documentation of training appropriate for the testing performed prior to analyzing patient specimens.

Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Current phlebotomy certification or willingness to get certified is highly preferred.
